INTRODUCTION

Mechanical, Electrical, and Water Piping (M&E) systems are the backbone of any building’s
infrastructure. These systems ensure functionality, safety, and sustainability in modern
buildings — from residential complexes to commercial and industrial structures.

This comprehensive 2-day course is specially designed to equip participants with the
essential knowledge, understanding, and practical skills required for mechanical, electrical, and piping (MEP) works in buildings. Participants will be introduced to core systems and
components, their functions, interdependencies, and standard practices in accordance with
current Malaysian construction and facilities management standards.

COURSE OBJECTIVES

Upon completing this course, participants will be able to:

  • Understand the principles and functions of M&E systems in
    building construction.
  • Identify key components and installations such as electrical systems, cold water supply, sanitary plumbing, fire protection, and more.
  • Interpret and apply basic design principles for the preparation of Bills of Quantities (BQ).
  • Recognize materials and elements related to M&E works, including prime cost and provisional sums.
  • Gain basic exposure to Computer-Aided Design (CAD) and measurement tools.
  • Coordinate effectively with other disciplines in project teams (e.g., civil, architectural).
