This 2-day program offers practical guidance on complying with Malaysia’s Personal Data Protection Act (PDPA) and its latest amendments. It focuses on everyday data handling challenges with real-world examples for easier understanding.
With the new requirements, appointing a Data Protection Officer (DPO) is now mandatory. The course highlights the DPO’s role in ensuring compliance, managing data breaches, and maintaining accountability.
Participants will learn how to build a strong privacy culture, develop risk-based compliance strategies, and align business practices with PDPA standards. Non-compliance may result in fines up to RM1,000,000 or 3 years’ imprisonment per offence. Organizations are strongly encouraged to appoint a qualified DPO, conduct regular training, and implement robust data protection policies.
By the end of the program, participants will be able to:
Identify the roles and responsibilities of the Data Protection Officer (DPO).
Apply the 7 Data Protection Principles in day-to-day operations.
Implement effective data breach management and notification procedures.
Develop and maintain PDPA compliance frameworks and internal policies.
