CHEMICAL SAFETY MANAGEMENT & SPILL RESPONSE IN COMPLIANCE WITH THE MALAYSIA REGULATORY, 19 - 20 January 2026_Kuching, Sarawak

INTRODUCTION

The production and use of chemicals in developed and developing countries have been increasing significantly during the past three decades. It is no doubt that chemicals will continue to play an important role in the production in order to sustain the needs of the people as well as for more development activities to provide jobs.

Chemicals are always been associated with the human health and environment compared with other groups of hazards.

It is the duty of employer to take action to control chemicals hazardous to health, through progressive application of control measures in order to reduce the exposure level of employees to the lowest practical level. 

This course will elaborate and explain the above subject to a layman on the importance and the management aspects of chemical safety. It will also meet the requirements of our current legislation such as Occupational Safety and Health (Amendment) Act 2022 with specific reference to CLASS Regulations 2013 and Use and Standard of Exposure of Chemicals Hazardous to Health Regulations 2000.

Millions of lives and dollars could have been saved if organizations use proper Chemical Safety tools to the best.

COURSE OBJECTIVES

  • Fulfill the legal requirement under the Occupational Safety and Health (Amendment) Act 2022 with reference to specific Regulations like as USECHH 2000 and CLASS 2013
  • Create awareness among the participants on the ill – effects of chemicals
  • Help identify routes of entry of chemicals into the body
  • Assist participants to identify and manage proper Personal Protective Equipment
  • Make the participants understand the labeling and Safety Data Sheet of Hazardous Chemicals (SDS) 
  • Help participants to implement the proper procedures in handling hazardous chemicals 
  • Equip participants to prepare for an emergency response (Practical session)
