An ongoing maintenance is crucial for any workplace. While Installation, repair, and servicing of machines and equipment may seem like a routine it can pose danger to employees performing the job. Grave injury or even fatality can be caused by the abrupt and unexpected startup of the machinery or equipment, bodily contact with live electrical circuits or the unexpected release of stored energy. Equipment that has been shut down may unintentionally be re-started or reactivated by a co-worker, or equipment that was supposed to be shut down may be controlled by automatic processors, timers, or computers and re-start automatically and without warning.
On the other hand, these hazards can be avoided through the use of lockout/ tagout procedures. Lockout/ tagout procedures isolate energy and control machinery and equipment, helping to protect employees servicing the equipment, operators, bystanders, and the equipment itself. This 2 days training will show participants electrical hazardous energy, proper lockout/ tagout procedures. Participants will also learn why the procedures are important, how and when to use them, and how to safely restart the equipment or machinery.
Upon completion of this program, participants will be able to:
- Identify Hazardous Electrical Energy Sources;
- Be In Control Of Hazardous Electrical Energy;
- Understand The Elements Of A Lockout/Tagout Program;
- Perform Effective Lockout Tagout Procedures; And
- Comply With Correct Start-Up Procedures.
